Food Delivery App

UX Designer

User Research | UX design

Overview

Projects:

Food Delivery App:
- Developed two distinct applications: one catering to customer needs and the other tailored for drivers and restaurants.
- Implemented user-friendly interfaces and intuitive features to enhance the overall user experience.
- Collaborated closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration across both apps.

- Conducted market research
- Created low-fidelity wireframes for both the applications based on the initial research synthesis.

Design System:
   - Initiated the development of a comprehensive design system to streamline the design process and ensure consistency across all platforms.
   - Engaged in ideation and research phases to define the scope, requirements, and components of the design system.
   - Collaborated with stakeholders to gather insights and feedback to inform the design system's development.
   - Worked towards establishing design guidelines and standards to be followed by the design team for future projects.

These projects spanned over a period of 6 months and allowed for comprehensive involvement in both application development and design system establishment, showcasing adaptability and proficiency in various aspects of product design.

Team Collaborations

The design team comprised two design interns, a senior designer, and a manager. We operated within an agile system, facilitating weekly collaboration sessions with team members and developers to review progress and ensure alignment.

Food Delivery App

A new project was recently launched to create a new food delivery app with a plan to first launch it in the US and then extend it to the Venezuelan market. The objective was to introduce a compelling and competitive option to the burgeoning delivery app market in the US and Venezuela.

The project began with foundational user research and market analysis. This involved examining existing applications, including their ratings, user flows, key performance indicators (KPIs), features, and other relevant metrics, to inform our approach.

My role

I was responsible for market research, data synthesis and converting data into designs with low-fidelity wireframes for customer app.

Click stream study of competitors

We mapped out the clickstream flow for five competitors in total, analyzing their user interactions and navigation pathways. Below are examples of a few of them.

This process enabled me to identify key features and steps necessary to incorporate into our app. Additionally, I revisited and refined certain workflows after identifying flaws in them during this analysis phase.

Data Synthesis

The research helped us identify users' pain points and frustrations, the main features, and the scope for innovation.

We introduced three new features:

Group Order - This feature makes ordering for large groups easy and hassle-free by letting everyone add their choice of dish to the common order.

Order for a Friend - You can order for someone else without messing up your own settings and details.

Rate individual dishes - This enables the user to rate individual dishes from his order.

Product

After the initial research, workflow and journey map iterations, I started creating wireframes. The product consisted of 2 main apps for customers and delivery.

Unfortunately, further development of this project was paused due to lack of funding.

Impact

Created a module to document research findings, insights, and methodologies for other designers to access and utilize.

Facilitated knowledge sharing and informed decision-making by centralizing research data and insights.

Fostered team collaboration and bonding through frequent online team huddles.
